Dr. R.S. Jayalakshmi


Dr. R.S. Jayalakshmi has a Ph.D in Music from the University of Madras and also was a faculty of Music at the same university for over 30 years. Currently she is an Academy Council Member at the Tamil Nadu Music and Fine Arts University and also a faculty at the Advanced School of Carnatic Music at The Music Academy.

Dr. Sriram Parasuram


Dr. Sriram Parasuram is one of India’s leading musicians. He was awarded the prestigious Firestone fellowship to study Western Classical violin in the U.S. and he completed his Master of Music Degree in Western Violin Performance from the University of Akron, Ohio, U.S.A. He also did his Ph.D. in World Music /Ethonomusicology from Wesleyan University, CT, U.S.A. He also serves as a teaching faculty member of the Advanced College of Carnatic Music of The Music Academy, Madras and visiting faculty at KALAKSHETRA.

Dr. Seshulatha Kosuru


Dr. Seshulatha Kosuru is a leading Carnatic singer from Andhra Pradesh. She has tuned and released many Carnatic and devotional albums and has also tuned many dance ballets. She holds a Ph.D. in music from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad. She is a graded artist of Hyderabad radio station in both classical and light music. She is a lecturer in Department of Music, Telugu University since 1989.

Dr. Ritha Rajan


Dr Ritha Rajan, has a Ph.D. from the University of Madras. Her research focused on “PAThAntara-s in the compositions of the Musical Trinity”. Currently she is the Academic Coordinator of Music Academy’ Advanced School of Carnatic Music and Associate Director of Music Academy’s Research Centre.

Dr. Padma Sugavanam


Dr. Padma Sugavanam is a carnatic vocalist with an interdisciplinary Ph.D (Music and Sanskrit) with a thesis titled “Kohala in the Samskrta Textual tradition” from the University of Madras and a gold-medalist in her Master’s degree in Indian Music. She has won several honors and awards, and the ‘Most Outstanding Vocalist’ of her category in the Madras Music Academy (Chennai) in 2014.

Dr. T.K.Saroja


Dr. T. K. Saroja is an acclaimed Carnatic vocalist, Composer, Singer and Trainer. She completed her Ph.D on ‘Contribution of Sangita Sahitya Kalanidhi N. Ch. Krishnamacharyulu to South Indian Music’ from Padmavati University(Tirupati),India. Apart from concerts, Saroja has scored music for Dance-drama productions performed at India and USA and has composed music and rendered her vocals for many devotional albums and Radio Jingles. She is currently serving as a Music Lecturer in IIIT, Hyderabad and visiting faculty at CCRT (Centre for Cultural Resources & Training, Government of India, New Delhi), Hyderabad Branch.

Dr. Mala Swamy


Dr. Mala Swamy (Mohan) is an accomplished Carnatic Vocal Musician with an ‘A’ Grade in the All India Radio. She holds a PhD from Mother Teresa Women’s University wherein her Doctoral thesis is on “A Critical Study of the creative form – Niraval”.  She has been a Guest faculty at University of Madras for almost a decade. She was the Coordinator of Distance Education Department (University of Madras). She has worked as Product / Concept Manager of Swathi Soft Solutions and has to her credit, a large number of DVDs and Audio Cd Productions of Carnatic Music (Both Concerts and Instructional DVDs). Later she joined Shankar Mahadevan Online Academy of Music as Dean and Curriculum Coordinater. She has been invited to many International forums to present papers on various topics. She also hold an M.A. degree in English and has done her Diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism. Presently she is doing her Senior Fellowship with the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.

Dr. Shyamala Vinod


Dr. Shyamala Vinod is a musicologist, an academician of music and a certified voxologist and voice trainer. Her teaching experience spans over 3 decades, and many renowned reality show contestants, playback singers and top ranking Carnatic music professionals are benefitting from her tutelage and training.

She holds a doctorate in music, specializing in the comparative study of Arabic Classical Maqamat and South Indian Classical Ragas. She has been a guide to many PhD candidates.

She has established and has been running the Sri Rajashyamala School of Music, for over the last 5 years, and has been imparting her knowledge and providing her consultancy and counseling to professionals and aspirants alike.

She is also one of the faculty members of the Advanced School of Carnatic Music, The Music Academy, Chennai, and she is a guest lecturer at the Department of Music, University of Madras, Chennai.

She also conducts various seminars, lecture-demonstrations and workshops, hosted by various cultural organizations and educational institutions.
